Medieval Book Reader Hey, I'm as new to this as many of you. I may be a step or two ahead of some but giant leaps behind many. The good news is that it is easy to catch up. In a few easy steps you can be up and running with some basic web pages.

The following links will take you to several pages designed to help you with basic web page creation and design. Within some of these pages are links to other pages where there is much more detailed information on creating, designing and publishing pages.

Creating Web Pages

This can be a tricky process for neophytes and even some old pros. To simplify the process, I'll give you a quick overview of the process.

You have to activate your e-mail account. Use your Microsoft Telnet Client program located on your computer and set up a www folder in your account. Directions are located here.

Then open Microsoft Word and create your opening page. This is also called your index.html file. Directions are located here.

Lastly you should upload the index.html file your just created in Micorsoft Word to your account on the University server, Directions are located here.

Once you have completed this process, the balance of making web pages is a mere replication and enhancement of items #2 and #3.
