POTTED PLANT

This craft can be done with children as young as 3 years old.

Supplies Needed

How To Do:
Younger children can paint the pot in whatever design they like. Older children may choose to draw a picture on the pot with pencil and then color the picture in with paint (you can even use stencils on the pot to make a design). Let the paint dry before handling. Once the pot is dry let the child scoop up some soil and place it into the pot. Once the soil is in the pot you can then plant whatever seeds you have, in the soil. Since Mother's Day is next month this would be great gift for mom! (Hopefully by the time you give her the present you will see that the plant has started to grow.)

*Optional If you want to stick with the theme of growing plants you can make a pretend flower garden. You will need the following supplies:

How To Do:Cut 5 different color flowers (tulip, rose, daisy, sunflower, etc.) out of different colored bright sponges. Take a sharp object and poke a hole into the bottom of each flower you made. Fill the holes with glue and put a straw in each hole to make the stem for the flower. Glue the green sponge into the box lid to make your grass. Make 5 holes in the green sponge using your sharp object. Fill each hole with glue and then insert the flower stems into the holes. When you are complete you will have your own flower garden.
