Submission Guidelines:
Asian American Journal is looking for literary pieces as well as
art work. Though we are Asian American Journal, those who are not Asian
American should not feel discouraged to submit a piece. As long as
your submission does not denigrate the cause of Asian American Journal, it will
be considered for publication.
Send all pieces via email to aaj@ic.sunysb.edu
Literary pieces should be 1.5 to 2 pages long, double
spaced, a maximum of 12 point font in MS Word. The only exception to
this suggested length would be poetry, which will be determined on an
individual basis. Articles can be opinionated, analytical, personal,
fictional, poetic, prose or any other literary form. The subject of
literary pieces need not emphasize Asian American issues because the
purpose of American Journal is to be a vehicle for Asian American
voices. However, articles on Asian American issues will be given
priority.
Artwork is accepted in all media. Keep in mind that any published
artwork will be in black & white. Artwork may be collages,
photographs, drawings, paintings, watercolor, etc. Please send in jpeg
format or other similar formats via email. Try to make the image
high-resolution. The final published form may be smaller in size but a
high-resolution image is ideal for the pre-publication process.
