Membership Application

For all those who have been accepted, please provide your payment in the form of a check or money order (NO cash accepted) made out to: Alpha Epsilon Delta - NY Lambda Chapter. This fee is due no later than Monday, March 31st by 12:00PM to the Office of Undergraduate Academic Advising (Melville Library Rm. E2360).

Each applicant will be reviewed and informed of their application status in a timely manner. Application deadline for the Spring 2008 semester was Friday, March 14th at 12:00pm. Next open membership period will be during the Fall 2008 semester, sign up for the email list to be keep up to date.

Note To All Applicants: We apologize for the inconvenience, but there is one last addition to the application. Please download and fill out the Grade Workbook for your science classes. Instructions on how to fill this out are written on the document. For any further questions, please e-mail us at aed@ic.sunysb.edu

The requirements to apply to AED are as follows:

  • Have a minimum cumulative and science grade point average of 3.2; must include most recent unofficial transcript upon submission of application
  • Have completed at least three semesters of pre-health and college level course work (at least two of those semesters must be taken at Stony Brook University)
Once you become a member, you must:
  • Attend at least 60% of the meetings/events per semester
  • Complete at least 10 community service hours per semester
  • Pay a one time induction fee of $75.00 to cover national and chapter expenses. This fee may be payable in the form of a check to: Alpha Epsilon Delta, New York Lambda Chapter.
Application Checklist:
  • Completed AED application form (typed)
  • Completed essay requirement on a separate sheet of paper (typed)
  • Completed Grade Workbook Form.
  • Attached most recent unofficial transcript
