ASME

American Society of Mechanical Engineers was founded in 1880 promoting the art, science and practice of mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering. The ASME chapter in Stony Brook University is fairly new and has great ambition. ASME is the past has provided opportunities that allowed students to visit laboratories providing them with the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the engineering atmosphere.

Provide engineering student with opportunities to interact with their peers and those in the engineering industry. These experiences will educate and enrich their lives, and thus make their time at stony brook more valuable and hopefully lead to lucrative careers. Another goal of ASME is to enhance the creative and cognitive ability of our members through challenging projects and competions.
