The Hellenic Student Association seeks to promote Hellenic culture and social values, to bring people of Greek background together by social means and to spread Greek heritage and make it known to the greater community.

The Hellenic Students Association of SUNY Stony Brook was established Spring 1995 after prior attempts by many other eager members to establish a strong unity between the Hellenes at Stony Brook was unsuccessful.

Through meetings with the Student Activities Board of the school and the consensus of the Student Body, approval was granted for such an organization and, so, forth came a special resource for Hellenic culture to the school, a gateway to all Hellenic students to meet and socialize with their fellow Hellenes, and a means of paying tribute to their beautiful motherland, GREECE.

It took seven committed board members and an additional 90 members to make this dream a success! It also took two very special individuals, our advisors, to guide this organization to its goals.

With goals being set for progress and with those goals being met, every time, we would like to offer our thanks to all who have helped in our effort to come together and celebrate our ancestry!
