Republic Day

Amidst great hardship and a fervor to get back what was rightfully ours, the Indian tricolor was unfurled on Indian soil for the first time on 26th January, 1930. It is this seed sown by our ancestors that gives us today the honor of unfurling the Indian tricolor on this foreign land we have chosen to call home.

With the true spirit of nationality IGSA headed to HQuad to celebrate this auspicious day. There we saluted the tricolor and recited the national anthem. We then had a very encouraging speech from the guest of Honor, Prof. Harbans Dhadwal. A short quiz about our Motherland helped enliven our history. The winners of this quiz were Miss. Kadhambari Sridhar and Mr. Tejo Chalasani. To celebration of one of the most important days in Indian history concluded with a round of Paani Poori and Nimbu Paani.
