On 11th July 2009, IGSA organized a 44 member trip to six Flags. The adventure began at 8 AM in the morning. It was 150 minutes ride from stony brook to the six flags great adventure. People were expected to sleep in the bus considering that we left relatively early in the morning compared to what people are used to at Stony Brook University. The silent sleep in the bus turned into exciting and 'fearless' screams during the rides at Six Flags.
We reached Six Flags at 10:30 AM. The Safari Ride closes at 4 PM so we thought of covering it before entering the roller costar ride adventure. This 350-acre wildlife preserve is home to 1,200 animals, including several endangered species. It was a wonderful experience to see these animals so close. Few of the animals seen were Brown Bears, Giraffes, Elephants, Rhinoceros, Lions, and Kangaroos. For complete list of animals found at the safari. Please .
We hurried a little and were able to finish the safari ride in 90 minutes. During the safari ride, we came to know that the most exciting and scariest ride at Six Flags great adventure, the KINGDA KA, was closed. Wondering why it's the scariest? Have a look - KINDA KA. People were a little disappointed but eventually, other rides did compensate for lack of KINGDA KA.
Six Flags is lot of exciting and thrilling rides and shows. It provides you with wide range of breath taking rides. You will be blasted off with Nitro, be strapped in tight with nothing but air below your dangling feet with the batman ride, go up and away as you soar head-first through a twisted steel track of Superman ride and experience the steepest drop of any wooden coaster in the country courtesy El toro ride. Apart from the thrills, you also have amusing shows such as the Dolphin show, rides for kids like Fly me to the Moon and water rides like Splash water Oasis. The most exciting part of the ride is that you can visually see your reaction during the ride. Six Flags does embarrass people by taking their snapshots during the ride is in progress with the help of cameras placed at the scariest turns of the rides. It's fun though.
We left the park at 8 PM. People could not stop talking about their experiences during the rides. Many had the courage of experiencing the thrill sitting in the first seat while few were satisfied without it. It was a day when we all became kids and everyone was screaming to the max. The trip was a success and we returned back home at 11 PM.
