Club and Organization Performance and Involvement Expo - 9/17/03

LUGSB attended the Club and Organization Performance and Involvement Expo. We had a machine running Red Hat Linux 9 with Ximian Desktop 2 installed to show to interested students. We played the Revolution OS DVD for a little bit also. Along with a pretty good sunburn, we collected 33 email addresses to add to our mailing list, and stirred up a lot of interest in the club and Linux itself. It was a brilliant idea to hold the involvement expo out in front of the SAC. Last year it was held in the SAC Ballroom B, and comparatively very few people showed up. Enjoy the pictures, click to see them bigger.

John manning the table This is a shot of John manning the table out in front of the SAC. I think the penguin on the top of the case is trying to mimic John's pose.

New member signing up Here's one of the 33 new members signing up for the mailing list.

Sharp Zaurus SL-C760 This is Adam's Sharp Zaurus SL-C760, a linux powered hand-held computer. If you look real close you can see icons and some windows on the screen. If you don't look close at all you can see that I hold a camera like an idiot.

Mark doesn't know what to do with his hands Here's Mark manning the table while John takes the picture. The computer is playing Revolution OS.

LUGSB table from the back This is a shot of the LUGSB table from the other side. This picture really shows the size of the whole event. There were a lot of people there, and a lot of people interested in Linux.

Mark behind the LUGSB table Here's another shot of Mark behind the LUGSB table. Yes, that is Bill Gates' face on the monitor.
