Second Meeting of the Fall 2003 Semester - 10/2/2003
Our second meeting of this year went really well. We had about 15 people attend, and it was great to see another big turnout. We set up a wireless network and had 7 people connect to it. It would have been a little bit cooler if we had a connection out to the internet, but it was nice to set up the network anyways. We heard a short talk about how to get connected to the wireless network on campus which is available in the SAC, the Library, and some other places while running Linux. This is still not supported by the University, but it can be done. Hopefully we'll be able to do something to get them to fully support operating systems other than Windows and Mac OS. I took these two pictures of the meeting. I tried to get everyone in one of the two shots.
This picture was taken during the talk about connecting linux to the university's wireless network.
Here's a shot of the rest of the room. You'll notice in the back there are some kids with Linux running on their macs. Sweet.
