Meeting of 10/30/2003
This was the first real install-a-thon that the group has had. We've attempted them before, most notably at ICON, but have done very few installs. Here we did 2 real installs and helped to fix problems that another person was having. All told we had something like 7 computers at the meeting, and a total of about 12 people. This was also the first meeting at which we had an internet connection (both wired and wireless). Greg installed Fedora Linux Test 3 on his laptop and we all got a look at the bleeding edge of desktop linux. Pictures follow, click on them to see them at 800x600.
This shot shows most everyone who attended the meeting. We had a few other guys poke their heads in and ask us some questions. A pretty good turnout both people-wise and computer-wise.
Here's Mark tapping away on his laptop. That is also Mark's desktop in the background pimped out with the window and the blue light. John is helping Ben alleviate the problems with his network and sound cards.
This shows a close up of Mark's laptop and desktop, as well a nice shot of the wire leading to our internet connection.
This is John talking about something with Renan and Ben. Greg is pictured on the right. Everyone else had left by this time.
