Revolution OS Screening on 11/6/03
Our screening of Revolution OS was a great success. We had a total of 35 people attend the viewing. We all sat around and watched this great documentary together. One recurring theme of the movie is the idea of the community that surrounds Linux and Open Source Software. Normally the Linux community is perceived to be an online entity, and this is definitely true. However, it's great to have a community of people that can get together and talk face to face, and that is what LUGSB is all about. Hopefully that idea caught on with everyone who attended the screening tonight. Besides watching the movie, we also handed out 20 copies of Knoppix as well as had 10 new people sign up for our mailing list. All in all a great success. Click on the pictures below to see them at 800x600.
This picture was taken just before I started the movie. This best shows the number of people in attendance, but a few more people came wandering in after this.
This is a shot of the DVD menu screen before we started the movie. Renan managed to get his reflective jacket in every shot. I think he deserves a round of applause.
Here's another shot of the room before we started the movie. John also deserves a round of applause for unstacking all of those chairs.
Here's a crowd of people gathering around our table to get copies of Knoppix and sign up for the mailing list.
Here's another shot of the crowd gathered around the table. It was great to see so many people interested in the club.
