NELS is one of the leading conferences on theoretical linguistics held in the northeastern United States and Canada. It is a forum for the discussion and dissemination of current research in theoretical linguistics.

The conference attracts participants from all over the world and welcomes abstracts/papers in all fields of theoretical linguistics. Please see our call for papers for more information on abstract submission.

SPECIAL SESSION:

NELS 34 will host a special session on Sentence and Speech Processing, focussing on the interface of linguistics with psychology, neurobiology, computer science, and other related fields. Abstracts/papers on this topic are especially welcome for the special session and for the accompanying poster session. Please see the Call for papers for more information on submission of abstracts.

- The conference will take place in the Charles B. Wang Asian American Center (The Wang center)

Upon arrival
- On Thursday evening (18:00 - 21:00) registration will take place at the Linguistics department on the second floor of the Ward Melville Social and Behavioral Sciences building (SBS) rm. S207.
- For the rest of the conference (Friday to Sunday) the registration desk will be located in the Lobby of the Wang center.
- Please check the campus map for directions to the Wang Center.
