| ASL Interpetation and other Accommodations |
We are happy to provide ASL interpretation services as well
as any other necessary accommodations to attendees with difficulties in
hearing, sight or mobility. However, because of the difficulty of
providing such accommodations at the last minute, we ask that anyone in
need of these services both pre-register and contact the NELS committee
at nels@ic.sunysb.edu by October 10, 2003. We cannot guarantee to be able
to provide accommodations to those registering after the deadline. |
||
| Book Displays and Book Vending |
We welcome publishers to display and sell their books at the
conference. However, Stony Brook University requires that we charge a
$110 fee for vending and table rental. Please contact the organizing
committee at nels@ic.sunysb.edu for more information. |

| Transportation to the Conference | Getting around in Stony Brook can be somewhat difficult without a car. For this reason, we are offering a shuttle service to NELS 34 attendees who are staying in Stony Brook or Port Jefferson hotels. This service will be offered during the first few hours before the conference each day, and after the conference has ended at night. We request that those of you who would be interested in this service contact the NELS organizational committee upon making a hotel reservation. Note that those staying at the Holiday Inn will be able to take advantage of their free shuttle to the Stony Brook campus. Please see our Travel page for more information on getting to Stony Brook and getting around in Stony Brook. | ||
| Parking at Stony Brook University | The availability of parking at Stony Brook is relatively good. On Friday, visitors will be able to park in visitor lots and metered parking lots for a small fee. On weekends, all parking lots are available to visitors for free, including the Administration parking garage, which is adjacent to the conference site. Please see Stony Brook’s Transportation and Parking website for parking maps and more information. | ||
