Instructions for posters

There will be two poster sessions at NELS 34, one on Friday 11/07 and one on Saturday 11/08.  Please refer to the conference program to determine for which poster session you have been scheduled.

Posters may be set up starting at  8:00 a.m. on the day of the poster session and can be on display throughout the day; authors should be available to answer questions about their posters during the assigned poster session (Friday: 16:45-17:45, Saturday: 14:00-13:00). Authors are encouraged to bring a hand-out that either reproduces the poster in a smaller format or describes the work in greater detail.

The conference organizers will provide for each poster an easel and a poster board with dimensions of 36 x 48  in. (the rough equivalent of 91 x  122 cm). The board can be positioned either vertically or horizontally on the easel. Only one side of the board can be used for displaying the poster. We will also provide staples, pushpins and tape.

Please be advised that the organizers are unable to provide photocopy services; however, copies can be made on-campus in the library, and just off campus. A list of available copiers and copy shops close to the conference venues will also be provided in the conference folder, available upon registration.

Each poster should include the title and the name(s) or the author(s), and a short abstract, followed by the key example material and the major ingredients of the analysis. (In the case of structures, please provide trees rather than labelled bracketings.) Use a font for the title which is large enough to be read from a distance of approx. 15 feet (about 5 metres). The rest of the poster should be printed in letters that can be read from approx. 6 feet (2 metres).
