The President Greetings NSBE Family,
I am Leachien Ricks and I will be serving as your 2006-2007 Stony Brook University NSBE Chapter President.
Overseeing a chapter, being a Mechanical Engineering major and also involved in a plethora of other activities is no easy task, but it is all worth it! This will be my third year as a member of this great organization and I have gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience. I want you all to come and see for yourself what this organization has to offer and therefore; I encourage you to become active members and challenge you to find another organization to match the numerous opportunities provided.

Kingsley Adeoye - Vice President

The Vice President Hello, my name is Kingsley Adeoye and I am a Computer Engineering major and Computer Science minor here at Stony Brook University. I feel that the National Society of Black Engineers is doing a great job of showing young students how to be great leaders of our future generation. Get involved and take advantage of the openings being given to you and always remember that there are those who live without our options.

Sabrina Thompson - Secretary

The Secretary She is a senior studying Mechanical Engineering. Her academic achievements have allowed her to be inducted into many honor societies, one of which is the Golden Key International Honour Society. As a freshman, she walked-on to the Women's Basketball Team and earned a spot as a player. After she graduates, one of her goals (aside from becoming a successful engineer) is to give back to her community and to serve as a role model to young women studying in fields that are male-dominant.

Comments: I feel that NSBE is a great organization to be a part of because it has so much to offer for its members. Whether you are majoring in engineering or another science major there is a lot that you can learn and benefit from if you participate.

Comments: Hello, My name is Berthe Ambroise and I am the Public Relation Rep and Pre-College Initiative Rep for the 2006 - 2007 NSBE E-board. I believe that the National Society of Black Engineers, SBU Chapter is a great organization for all major and ethnicities. Since my freshmen year when I first joined NSBE, I have gain a lot in way of knowledge, experience, and opportunity. And, I hope that all who wish to join gain a gratifying experience.

Steven Villaverde - Telecommunications Chair

The Telecommunications Chair A senior pursuing the computer science field. This promising young man has an interest in web technologies and follows up on anything related to web 2.0. Of course he does it with style through news feeds. He has other interests though, particularly languages like Japanese and Chinese. His major contribution to NSBE so far is designing and building this very site you're using. He's an open source advocate looking to work with web applications. What else? He follows web standards and his favorite software currently is the Opera browser. Firefox has nothing on it,
