I would like to invite everyone to please join OAS and Geico for another Actuarial Information Session. Geico will be coming in to talk about their actuarial divisions and what career opportunities are available in the property and casualty insurance industry. This event is the evening after Mocktail.

Hello all,
I am very excited about our next upcoming event. We will be hosting a presentation by New York Life Insurance Company. They will be collecting resumes and presenting on their actuarial programs and divisions. The presenter is a relatively newly hired actuary and will be able to answer any questions you have about applying for jobs or studying for exams. **As always there will be free food!

Hello everyone,
This is just a reminder that tomorrow (Tuesday, October 27th) is the date of OAS's Presentation Skills Ice Cream Social presented by the Career Center. The event starts at 5:30 PM in SAC 305 and should be finished up by 6:30 PM. I hope that everyone received an email prior to this one from either the Career Center or Alan Tucker. Unfortunately, OAS's email has been uncontrollably out of commission for a week.
This event is a great opportunity to learn more about how to professionally present information to future co-workers, and it will help you develop some good public speaking skills. We will be having Andrea Lipack doing the presentation; she is a very accomplished public speaker and I know it will be a great presentation.
Last but not least, we will have free ice cream with many toppings!!!

Hello everyone!
Welcome to OAS's new and improved website. I would like to thank Rowie, our new Web Master for fixing it up and running it. I will be posting updates and all upcoming event information on this blog post so please check it often.
Our next big event is the Career Center Presentation Skills Ice Cream Social! Wow, that's a mouthful! It will be held on Tuesday October 27th in SAC 305 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. It is an event that will help you learn to present information in a formal manner and it is an opprotunity for free ice cream! How can you beat that!? Please R.S.V.P to the event by emailing oas@ic.sunysb.edu with the following subject: "R.S.V.P. Ice Cream Social - 'Your Name'". Space may be limited.
**We will be having study sessions every Tuesday and Thursday in SAC 305 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM up to that event.
