About Us

The purpose of this society is to offer information to perspective allied health applicants. A major objective of the Pre-PA Club is to prepare students for admission to PA programs by educating them through experiences of various guest speakers, academic advising, and information sessions. We also profile other PA schools in order to offer a wider scope of information. We encourage all SBU students who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare to look at the PA profession.

 

A little about the Profession...

The Physician Assistant profession is growing and has become prominent in the healthcare industry. PAs provide healthcare services that were performed traditionally by a doctor and practice under the supervision of a licensed physician.

These are just some of the many different areas a PA might work: Critical Care, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Pediatrics, Primary Care, Psychiatry, Surgery, Urology, Orthopedic Surgery, and Occupational Medicine.
