Students for Peace & Humanity and The Greater
Community
“Together for Peace, Justice, and
humanity…”
Students for Peace &
Humanity enjoys the coalition
building efforts with various local groups in Stony Brook area. The war with Iraq prompted a more visible connection
with local community, so between November 2001 and March 2003, we focused on
bridging the gap between the University community and the local community
through events and organizing buses to peace rallies and protests. Among the Stony Brook community members we
have the great opportunity to work with are American
Friends Service Committee – Long Island affiliate, Melville High School,
North County Peace Group, and WBAI. We continue working together with local
community to advance worthy causes.
