THE STUDENT SHORT FILM SHOWCASE

ABOUT: The Student Short Film Showcase will show video projects by Stony Brook University students in April of 2009 during the SSK Arts Festival. Submitted projects will be reviewed by the executive board, who will then determine which movies will be presented at the showcase. (Preference is given to movies made in the following SBU-TV classes: THR 216, THR 277, THR 318, THR 403, ARS 208, ARS 225, ARS 317, ARS 318, ARS 326, ARS 328, ARS 425, ARH 336 and ARH 345.) (Preference is also given to CCS majors, ARS majors, Media Arts minors, Digital Arts minors and students who are members of SBU-TV.) However, the winners of the showcase are determined by a jury of their peers. Which means, those who attend the showcase, will be able to vote for their favorite film of the night. There is only one ballot allotted to each student. And students can only turn their ballots in at the end of the showcase.
ELIGIBILITY: To submit your film to the showcase you must be a Stony Brook University student. Alumni, International Students and Visiting Students are allowed to submit a film, but it must have been made while in attendance at Stony Brook University.
GUIDELINES: Submissions must be on DVD, Mini DV Tape, Quick Time File or AVI File Formats Only! None of the films can exceed 10 minutes.
SUBMISSION FEE: None.

(* The film selection committee decides what films will be shown at the showcase, not the actual winner. All members of the committee are current members of SBU-TV and do not act as the writer or director of any of the films in the submission pool.)
