- Dec. 11, 2006 - Meeting with President Kenny
Great job everyone! The meeting went really well; they were impressed at the amount of work we all (and I mean all of the club) put into finding background information for our topics. We as a club will likely be working with the administration more and taking on a more active role in the research of various projects. Go environment!
- Nov. 1, 2006 - Kissing Booth
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by and donated! We raised over $250 for the orphaned dolphin Ariel at the Riverhead Foundation. Special thanks goes to the Marine Science Club, Pep Band, and Captain Planet for their help!
- March 16-17, 2007 - Trip to the New England Aquarium
Two days of fun in Boston featuring a visit to the New England Aquarium! Space is limited, if you want to go on the trip but can't make it to the meetings, be sure to send an email to us. We will try our best to include as many people as possible.
- Week of April 16-20, 2007 - Earthstock
Come show your support for a greener earth with Stonybrook's celebration of Earth Day!
- April 27, 2007 - Roth Regatta
We know you've been waiting for this all year. Watch your fellow students row across the pond in homemade boats made of cardboard and duct tape! This is one of the biggest events on campus. Don't miss out!
- Sept. 5, 2007 (Campus Lifetime) Tie Dying tee shirts near the zebra path. We are using Rit dye which is non-toxic to the environment.
- Sept. 6, 2007 @ 6:00 PM (Hendrix Lounge, Roth Quad) First meeting of the Fall 2007 Semester.
- Sept. 22, 2007 (2pm) BBQ Outside in Roth Quad and then go for a hike at 4 pm.
- Sept. 22, 2007 (4pm) Hike through our SUNY Stony Brook University's Ashley Shiff Preserve with Professor Gill Hanson and learn the local history, geology and environmental issues. Remember to come to the BBQ before hand.
- Sept. 25, 2007 (events begin at 7pm and end at 12pm) The evening will center on a competition of which dorm within Roth Quad can use the least amount of energy throughout the night (Sept 25, 7pm- Sept. 26, 8am). The point of this event is to increase awareness, build community and, of course, have fun. There will be bands guest speakers, games and a BBQ. We will even attempt to keep the bands off the electric grid by running their equipment on batteries that will have been charged earlier by solar panels.
- Oct. 10, 2007 (from 12-4PM) Life Science and Biotechnology Job/Internship Fair. Log into Zebranet to see which companies are attending the fair, located in the Sports Complex.
- Oct. 12, 2007 (4-5PM in Endeavor 120) Meet and greet with professors from the Environmental and Marine Sciences department. Meeting afterwards for the Ropical Ecology Class in Jamaica during winter session.
- Mondays at 6PM (Hendrix Lounge, Roth Quad) - Our weekly meetings have been rescheduled. Make sure you update your calendar!
- Oct. 24, 2007 (12:30 - 2:10 @ SAC Auditorium) New Perspective: Free food and live music, speakers from The Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club, Enivronmental Studies Department.
- Nov. 2-5, 2007 Power Shift: a trip to Maryland for an environmental advocate conference, followed by a rally in Washington, DC.
