Stony Brook Crew Coverage by the Stony Brook Statesman
Welcome to the website for Stony Brook Crew, the oldest and most storied sport at Stony Brook University. Established in 1958, Stony Brook Crew has proven to be a consistent force in the rowing community, whether it be during its varsity days or its undefeated seasons as a club sport. We continue to field both fours and eights in varsity and novice competition, and hope in the 2007-2008 academic year to once again prove ourselves in the face of intense intercollegiate competition. Armed with a brand new coaching staff, the team has shown that it belongs amongst the elite in club rowing.
The team practices every morning at 6 AM in the Athletics Complex or at the docks, depending upon weather conditions and phase of training. We also have administrative meetings at 12:50 in the Student Activities Center, room 306 on Wednesdays.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend our races and cheer on the team, especially when we're in or around New York City. If you're a Stony Brook Crew alumnus, please visit our alumni page. We need contact information, and some information on the history of the club.
