Hi, my name is Anna and this is my THR 216 website. It's a collection of all the work I've done throughout the semester. I have my collage, which I did an ok job on. I needed to put more thought behind it. Then there's my Slideshow which stressed me out a lot. First I couldn't think of a good idea and then I had technical problems. In the end it was alright. Next I made a movie with one of my classmates. It was fun to make, it just sucks that I got a ticket at the beach, 25$. Well this is my website, browse and enjoy!!!!!!

Throughout the semester I feel my connection with new media has change dramatically. I thought this class was going to be a lot more simple and easy then it actually was. I thought I understood new media quite well, but soon learned I didn’t know that much. Now that I’ve taken this class I feel I understand it at a basic level. The first project, the collage, was technically easy for me because I’ve used Adobe Photoshop before. I knew how to alter pictures, extract, clone and more, even before coming to class. I feel this project refreshed and further developed my skills with Photoshop. I also learned how to create a story through a series of pictures compiled into one. I feel this project allowed me to understand new media at very basic 2-D level. The next project was the slideshow. For this project I took so many pictures, but none of them fit my creative vision (it was very cloudy, I don’t even think I could see it that well) except for a few pictures. For this project I really got an understanding of taking pictures and connecting them to each other and to music. I also used Photoshop, but in a simple way. I feel my connection with new media changed because this was the first time I ever use iPhotos and now I feel I have a basic understanding of the program. For the next project we had to make a movie. This project really developed my connection with new media. I learned how to frame shots, how to incorporate the actor in the shot and how to film in difficult locations. I also learned how to edit with iMovie and Final Cut Pro. First I used iMovie and I really didn’t like it so I used Final Cut Pro. I felt that iMovie was very basic and Final Cut Pro allowed for more of a true editing experience. I learned how to edit with this project, how to cut shots and how to add affects that give the film a different feel. I learned how to incorporate music to moving images and when it would be good to change the song or have silence. This project really developed my understanding of new media and how if you know the programs it isn’t that complicated. The last project was the website and it took my understanding and connection to new media to a whole new level. I had no idea how to use Dreamweaver when I started this project. I seriously thought it was the hardest thing I ever used in my life. After sitting down and working on my project for hours I began to understand this new program a little. Now that I’m done with the project I still fell there is more to Dreamweaver, but that is something for me to learn another day. I feel I have connected to new media in a whole new way this semester, I just wish I had more time to fully understand everything.
