In the beginning of this course I figured I was aware of all new media designs. I had taken many digital pictures, used iphoto and used my video camera on more than one occasion to film friends and events. My relationship with computers and computer programs changed immediately while taking this course. Each element of each program had a new part of which I wasn't aware of and which I had no idea how to use. While taking this course I learned how to use those new elements to enhance each of my projects to get the most out of the assignments.  Besides the new programs I learned how to use, I also had the excuse and opportunity to see some great Independent Films. I have always wanted to go see an Independent Film and in the course I decided to see two of them for my new media events. Both of those movies opened my eyes to a new form of media. I was so surprised to see how different an Independent Film can be in comparison to a multi-million dollar production on the big screen. Probably the one thing that taught me the most about new media was making this website. I browse the Internet every day and see hundreds of websites every week. Never did I think that it took so much time and there were so many steps in making a good website. Having to make a separate page for each link, changing the color scheme and even making a tool bar was more work then I thought it would be. I just assumed that since there were so many websites out there for different things that it couldn’t be that hard to make one. And although once I got the hang of it, it became easier; at first making this site wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be.

Each day media and media styles advance and there is something new for us to learn. People come out with new programs and ideas all the time. Other people need movies made, posters designed and pictures taken. Knowing how to do these certain things can only help me and anyone else in the future. New media and new media events have changed the world of design and business and I am glad to now be apart of the change. My relationship with new media has changed dramatically while taking this course. I have developed a new appreciation for everything that goes on behind the scenes of photo shoots, poster design, movie making and web design. I now will never take for granted a well made website or an eye catching poster that gets me to an event. In the end new media has changed the world and lives of many people. It has created jobs and created new ideas for the world.  I really enjoyed working in this class and learning about all the different types of new media.  I really have a new appreciation and new outlook on all new media forms.
