WHY WOULD I WANT TO JOIN THE...

AT STONY BROOK?
Pre-Med. What goes through your head when you hear that term? Many would say doctors, pharmacists, a huge workload and stress. Not everyone can orwants to major in pre-med and it's fine. However, let me tell you something that'll, hopefully, open up your eyes in majoring in this field.
Pros
Being a pre-med student gives you a lot of benefit. First off, you receive respect from teachers, peers, family, and friends. Everyone knows that being a pre-med student isn’t easy. Here at Stony Brook University, we are known to have the best pre-med program. The government gives Stony Brook huge lump sums of grants due to our outstanding program. That money is used to better enhance the school’s laboratories and everything that has to do with pre-med. Once you graduate and receive a master’s or PH.D, you are set. Not only will you be financially satisfied but that you have made it and able to help others. Whether you are a laboratory scientist, doctor, pharmacist, you will be able to find cures and treatments to save a people’s lives.

Think about wearing the white coats only some are privileged to wear.

Cons
Becoming a Pre-Med student, isn’t easy. There is a lot of effort, time, and dedication that needs to be put into your studies to be successful. This is not something you can procrastinate on and decide to study for the last minute. It requires you to be on top shape and that you know the stuff that was given to you daily. The workload is very heavy and if you can’t give time to do it, I advise you to reconsider. Don’t take pre-med if you only want to help but not do the work to get there. MAKE SURE YOU ARE DETERMINED AND ABLE TO DO THE WORK! Anyone can get into a school that is known for their pre-med programs, however, if you don’t live up to the workload and dedication, you are striving for something you’ll never attain.
