David A. Scaduto

Graduate student of Biomedical Engineering at Stony Brook University. Boston University alumnus interested in medical physics, biotech, art, design, and beautiful ideas.

My name is David Scaduto, and I am a graduate student at Stony Brook University. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering, concentrating in Medical Physics. Originally from Long Island, New York, I spent four years in Boston studying at Boston University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree, also in Biomedical Engineering. This was punctuated by a one-semester stay at Tel Aviv University in Tel Aviv, Israel.

While at BU, I developed a keen interest in medical imaging, an interest that I have chosen to pursue. My current research is in digital breast tomosynthesis, a new form of breast imaging. You can read more about this work on the research page.

When I'm not in the classroom or the lab, I enjoy playing the piano and taking photographs. You can take a look at some of my photos on the Outside the Lab page, where you can follow a link to my flickr page for even more. I also love to travel, having survived several cross-country road trips, and have visited several European and Middle Eastern countries.

I hope you'll take a look around. Feel free to get in touch with me by email, or follow me on Twitter, where we can engage in a discussion. Hope to hear from you!
