Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to my website. To begin, let me give you some background information about myself. My name is Gayle Dannette Green, born in 1976 in Dearborn, Michigan. After attending elementary school and high school in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, I left Michigan to attend Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. After four years there, I graduated with my B.A in Interdisciplinary Public Policy Studies and then I moved to Chicago, Illinois. I attended the University of Chicago, where in a 'mere' eight months I earned my M.A. in the MAPSS program, which is an acronym for Master of Arts Program in the Social Sciences, which is another interdisciplinary program. After a brief stint living near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where I worked for the University of Pennsylvania, I moved to St. James, New York and am now a first-year graduate student in the Sociology Department at SUNY Stony Brook. My research interests focus around sexuality, gender, and demography. I have researched teen pregnancy issues, male parenting issues, and in the future, hope to study demographic trends in 'developed' nations as well as in Sub-Saharan Africa. I have also recently become interested in the sociology of childbirth, particularly how couples experience the process. I do have interests outside of school (yes, a grad student with a life), I have a wonderful family (Mom, Megan, Dad, Pam, and of course, Ruff the dog), a boyfriend (Dave), and I also love to travel, read, cook (which I am rather good at, if I may say), and perform many other feats of domestic magic.
