Supreme New York is a clothing/skateboarding brand founded by James Jebbia in 1994 with the first store opened on Lafayette Street in downtown Manhattan. Unlike other clothing brands, Supreme releases a few items at a time to the public. Every Thursday morning at 11am these items are available in store and online. Supreme was originally founded as a street brand for skateboarders but is now purchased by almost everyone.
Every Thursday morning at 11am Supreme has a release of a few items from their seasonal collection with a collaboration every few weeks. This project was to create a simple bot that scrapes the HTML from Supreme's website at 11am to find a specific item and checkout which is done at the speed of a computer giving the user an advantage over others who aren't using a bot.
Supreme, once known as a start up skateboarding brand, created a market for buying and reselling their clothing with their limited availability and high demand. I found out about Supreme back in 2010 but didn't think much of it. I was always fascinated by their classic Supreme Box Logo design but never thought it was worth going through the trouble or money to pick up one as the box logo apparel is sold out within seconds of release and resell as high as $1000. As the years go by I started getting interested in their clothing and the idea of buying and reselling but was never able to purchase any of their releases for retail value so in college after taking a few programming courses I decided to make my own bot.
