In my spare time, of which I don't have much, I try to keep busy doing the things that I love to do. Some of these things are:
I've had a passion for music for as long as I can remember. I grew loving to play the drums, then I picked up guitar when a friend of mine decided to give up on learning and throw his away. I taught myself how to play, and joined my first band at the age of 18, playing bass to fill a role, and eventually switching to guitar. That band went on to achieve internation notoriety and I spent the next five years touring and playing shows with national acts, from small clubs to large festivals. I quit because the pay was too unsteady (and sometimes largely non-existent), but I still like to play in local bands in my spare time.
I love traveling to new places, experiencing different cultures, and trying different foods! During my time touring in the band I traveled through all 48 continental United States, playing in most of them. We traveled into Mexico as far south as Mexico City. In the Summer of 2015 I made my first trip across the Atlantic to Europe, a trip that lasted three weeks and stretched from Western Europe to the edge of Asia! Golf is expensive, stressful, and I'm not great at it, but sometimes I'll make some great shots and put together a decent round, and that keeps me coming back. Plus it's a good opportunity to put my phone away and detach from the world for a couple hours in a serene setting.
Hockey is my favorite sport. I played for a couple years when I was young but my parents didn't keep me in it because of the erratic schedule. I got back into playing a few years ago, and I play every chance I get, but the getting ice time around my schedule is still tricky.
Something I don't think I'll ever grow out of. I've never been without a video game system since Sega Genesis. After Sega I went on a Nintendo kick, going from N64 to Gamecube, eventually getting a PlayStation 2 to play Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which is still one of my favorites. I had an Xbox 360, but went back to Sony in the current generation with a Playstation 4. Most of the games I play now are on my PC which I built a few years ago.
