Agreement Frequently Asked Questions

During the Fall and Spring semesters, after the add/drop period, all
registered students will be able to obtain this software from the Seawolves
Marketplace, or the HSC bookstore. To keep track of software distribution
students will be asked to swipe their valid Stony
Brook IDs. By accepting the software you are accepting the terms outlined
in this agreement
Students are allowed
1 copy of each software package until upgrades are available. With the
exception of Windows XP Professional, all software can be installed twice
(i.e. on 1 PC and 1 mobile device such as a laptop. Windows XP Professional may be installed once. Once the product key is activated, Win XP cannot be installed a 2nd time.
Students may choose
from either Microsoft Office 2003 Professional for Windows OR Microsoft
Office Professional MAC version X.
If you lost your license key code for Windows XP upgrade, call Microsoft
at (716) 871-2929.
If you lost your license key code for Office XP, Front Page, and Publisher,
call Microsoft at (716) 871-2919.
Lost software and licenses will not be replaced. Therefore, do not lose the software or licenses!
If during the time that you attend Stony Brook a new version of any of the applications listed above is released, you will be eligible to receive it at the beginning of each semester. However, you will no longer be eligible to receive additional upgrades after your student status changes.
PC Users: Office 2003: 3 CD’s
(2 Office CD’s + 1 Business Contact Manager for Office Outlook
2003 CD)
Office 2003 includes Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Publisher
MAC Users: Office MAC: 3 CD’s
(1 Office CD + Virtual PC for MAC)
Office includes Word, Excel, Power Point and Entourage.
Important Note for MAC users:
People with MacOS 10.1 will get Office version X + Virtual PC version
6.1.
People with MacOS 10.2.8 or 10.3 (Jaguar or Panther) will get Office
2004 + Virtual PC version 7.

*** Students are granted the right, not ownership, of the software. Upon graduation, students will be granted ownership as long as Stony Brook is still subscribed to this software agreement.
