SBU College Republicans

"You
and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children
this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to
take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at
least let our children and our children's children say of us we
justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done." — Ronald
Reagan, 1964
"My fondest hope for each one of you -- and especially
for the young people here -- is that you will love your country, not for
her power or wealth, but for her selflessness and her idealism. May each
of you have the heart to conceive, the understanding to direct, and the
hand to execute works that will make the world a little better for your
having been here." — President Ronald Reagan, 1992 Republican Convention

Welcome to the
College
Republicans
of Stony Brook University website! We are dedicated to the goals of
achieving a Republican majority here on campus, and of promoting the
spread of freedom and democracy around the world, limited government and
the rule of law, federalism, and a free-market economy. As an
organization based upon the principle of improving the way government
works, the
College Republicans
shall work hard to advocate for reforms which benefit the student body,
to campaign for local Republican candidates who share our ideals, and to
reach out to the community whose traditions we uphold.
If you are one of
the many Stony Brook students who believe that we can attain a
Republican majority here then join with us to promote these very
important ideals. Thanks for visiting our website, and feel free to
e-mail us at

"After
all that has just passed -- all the lives taken, and all the
possibilities and hopes that died with them -- it is natural to wonder
if America's future is one of fear. Some speak of an age of terror. I
know there are struggles ahead, and dangers to face. But this country
will define our times, not be defined by them. As long as the United
States of America is determined and strong, this will not be an age of
terror; this will be an age of liberty, here and across the world. " —
President George W. Bush, 9/20/01 "We go forward with complete
confidence in the eventual triumph of freedom. Not because history runs
on the wheels of inevitability; it is human choices that move events.
Not because we consider ourselves a chosen nation; God moves and chooses
as he wills. We have confidence because freedom is the permanent hope of
mankind, the hunger in dark places, the longing of the soul. When our
Founders declared a new order of the ages, when soldiers died in wave
upon wave for a union based on liberty, when citizens marched in
peaceful outrage under the banner 'Freedom Now' — they were acting on an
ancient hope that is meant to be fulfilled." — President George W. Bush,
