Message from Clark Berge, Chaplain |

As Chaplain, I am committed to keeping the Protestant Campus Ministry (PCM) an intentionally inclusive Christian ministry on the Stony Brook University campus. I joyfully welcome gays and lesbians, and collaborate with all kinds of people to create opportunities for spiritual questioning and celebration, following the example of Jesus Christ. PCM-sponsored events are open to all students, faculty, and staff. Some of the things that PCM has had success with include guided mediations and drumming circles, because these practices open up the spirit, mind, and body. I have worked with Jewish, Muslim, and Buddhist colleagues to explore spiritual issues in different films. PCM-sponsored groups helped build Habitat for Humanity houses and walked to "take back the night" with the Wo/myn's Center. We invited Matthew Fox the internationally recognized authority on creation spirituality to speak at Stony Brook on Earth Day to teach us how to live in harmony with all other species on this planet. Above all, as Chaplain, I am available to offer whatever support and insight I can as you deepen your spiritual journey. I wish you much peace and all good! |
