The following pages give some basic information on Dr. Adleman’s colleagues over the years.

Ronald Rivest worked along with Dr.Adelman inventing the RSA and is a famous computer scientist and cryptologist in his own right. Dr. Rivest holds a B.A in mathematics from Yale University and Ph.D in Computer Science from Stanford University.  He is currently a professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at MIT. He is also the founder of RSA Data security (now merged with Security Dynamics). He received the touring award along with Dr. Adleman, he is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Sciences, and is a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery.

Adi Shamir is the third inventor of the RSA algorithm. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Tel Aviv University, and his Masters and Ph.D from the Weizmann Institute of Science. After spending three years at MIT (from 1977 to 1980) he returned to Israel and became a professor at the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Manuel Blum was Dr. Adleman’s Ph.D advisor. Dr. Blum holds a B.S and M.S from MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He also holds a Ph.D in mathematics from the same school. Blum himself received a Turing Award in 1995 “In recognition of his contributions to the foundations of computational complexity theory and its application to cryptography and program checking.” Until 2000 he was a professor at the University of California, Berkley. He is currently a professor at Carnegie Mellon University.

Larry Lasker is the writer and producer of the movie Sneakers, he was the one who invited Adleman to help with the movie. Besides sneakers Lasker has been a scriptwriter/producer for many great movies like “War Games”, “Project X”, “True Believer” and others. He has received numerous Academy Award nominations.
