PHY 141 - Classical Physics I Honors, Fall 2018

Welcome to the main webpage for PHY 141 Fall 2018!

This course is the Honor's version of Classical Physics course. The topics covered were the same as in PHY131, but going in to greater depth and calculus is used extensively. If you like physics, and/or are considering being a physics major and/or you just feel like exploring physics at a conceptually deep level beyond the requirements for your major, this is the course for you! You will have to work hard, but it will be well worth it!

The class group will be the same for lecture and recitations and we will meet in the following times and places.

  • Lectures - Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00 AM - 9:53 AM Harriman 111
  • Recitation - Friday 10:00 am - 10:53 am Harriman 111

Attendance at all class meetings is expected. Note that on Fridays, often the recitation might take place at 9 am followed by a lecture at 10.

You should read the course syllabus carefully as it contains all the important information about the organization of the course.

This webpage is also the place to find the lecture notes (updated after each lecture).

The Course calendar contains all the important dates for the semester.

Your instructor is Prof. Krishna Kumar. My office is C111 in the Physics Building.
